Three Charged in Dearborn Carjacking, Police Shootout
Three men are behind bars after a reported carjacking on the east side of Dearborn last week where shots were fired at police.

DEARBORN, MI — Three men are now facing charges after a carjacking and armed robbery on Dearborn’s east side last week, followed by a shooting at Dearborn police officers. Kimani Waiters, 22, Donte Davis, 26, and Marquette Jones, 25, have been charged in connection to the robbing and carjacking of a 32-year-old man.
Police say they received a call about a stolen car and attempted to stop it near Williamson and Henn streets when Waiters reportedly drove the stolen vehicle towards an officer and fired up to four shots through the windshield at him. The officer returned one shot, police said. Neither the officer nor Waiters were injured in the exchange.
Waiters reportedly drove away at that point, encountering another Dearborn police officer which collided with the reportedly stolen car Waiters was driving. He then fled on foot and was later apprehended when police saw him walking in the area of the carjacking. Police continued to investigate, leading to the arrest of Davis and Jones.
