21K DTE Customers Without Power In Metro Detroit Due To High Winds
Forecasters warned winds could reach up to 45 miles per hour throughout the day.
More than 21,000 DTE Energy customers in metro Detroit were without power Friday afternoon due to high winds.
The outages were scattered across the metro area, with most in Wayne County, especially the downriver communities, according to the utility's outage map.
A wind advisory was in effect for the area until 4 p.m. Friday. Forecasters warned sustained winds will be between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour throughout the day.
