Temperatures across the area will rise into the 50s Thursday with rain developing in the late afternoon hours, the weather service said.

The rain will continue overnight when temperatures push 60 degrees by Friday morning, possibly breaking the record of 55 degrees that was set in 1949, the weather service said.

Forecasters warned some areas could see heavy downpours with a non-severe thunderstorm during the overnight hours.

The rest of Friday will dry out with temperatures plunging into the 30s as another wintry storm takes aim at the area, the weather service said.

Rain will changeover to snow Saturday night, leading to a couple of inches of fresh snow across the area by Sunday morning, the weather service said.

Scattered snow showers will stick around the area through Sunday with temperatures below freezing, the weather service said.
