4 Inches Of Snow Possible Across Detroit Area Wednesday

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — More snow is expected across the Detroit area Wednesday amid an Arctic blast that will push temperatures into the single digits, according to the National Weather Service.
Widespread light snow showers will begin falling across southeastern Michigan Wednesday afternoon before heavier bands of snow move into the region during the evening and nighttime hours, according to the weather service.

Most areas across southeastern Michigan should see 1-2 inches of fresh snow by Thursday morning, but some areas can get up to 4 inches of snow. Forecasters expect areas closer to the Thumb region to see higher amounts of snow, while areas closer to the Ohio border to see less snow.
Temperatures across southeastern Michigan will also plunge into the low 20s Wednesday night, creating chances for flash freezing on untreated roadways with snow, according to the weather service.

Overnight winds will gust between 35 and 45 miles per hour, pushing temperatures into the single digits Thursday morning, according to the weather service.
The strong winds will keep temperatures in single digits and teens across southeastern Michigan throughout Thursday, along with occasional light snow showers throughout the region, according to the weather service.
The frigid temperatures will stick around across southeastern Michigan into Friday, but highs will gradually begin to warm back up into the 40s over the weekend and into next week, according to the weather service.
