Central City Health in Detroit welcomes community Dec. 3 for adult flu vaccines, free HIV testing
Event set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 3427 Woodward Ave.; will also feature food, raffles and winter clothing giveaways

DETROIT, Mich. — Central City Health (CCH) is inviting Detroit and Wayne County residents to a free community wellness event on Wednesday, Dec. 3, offering adult flu vaccines, free HIV and syphilis testing, raffles, food, and a giveaway of winter clothing and accessories, including hats and gloves.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3427 Woodward Ave., Detroit. All services are confidential, free, and open to the public.
Flu vaccines are free, and pre-registration is preferred. Community members can pre-register by calling Damon Percy at 313-759-2821 or Norris Howard at 313-468-4719.HIV and syphilis testing requires no appointment, and participants may simply walk in.

“This event is about removing barriers and making sure people get the preventive care they deserve,” said Dr. Kimberly Farrow-Felton, President and CEO of Central City Health. “Knowing your status, staying protected during flu season, and having basic winter essentials can make a meaningful difference in someone’s health and well-being. We’re here for the community, and we want everyone to feel welcomed and supported.”
The Wayne State University Prevention Team (W’Sup), which provides FREE HIV testing and counseling, referral services, and safer sex materials, will support the day’s services, and support for the day’s activities also came from ViiV Healthcare.
