Snow, Sleet Arrive Overnight, Slippery Tuesday Morning Likely In Detroit Area

A wintry mix will arrive in metro Detroit overnight, leading to a slow and slippery morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect light snow to move into the region overnight, before shifting into sleet and freezing rain in most spots Tuesday morning. The wintry mix will stick around through the morning hours, the weather service said.

Most of the snow will melt, but some parts in the Detroit area could see up to an inch of accumulation, the weather service said.

Clear skies return to the region for Wednesday and Thursday with highs moving toward 50 degrees, the weather service said.

Highs will stay in the 50s with a chance for Friday, before a sunny and dry weekend, the weather service said.
