SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — After a few rare 50 degree December days, wintry weather returns this week across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs across southeastern Michigan will reach the 50s Monday before temperatures gradually fall with snow chances throughout the week, according to the weather service.
The scattered snow showers will move into the area Tuesday night and will stick around through Wednesday, according to the weather service.

Some areas can see up to two inches of fresh snow by Thursday, but that'll more likely be in areas north of Interstate 69, according to the weather service.
South of the interstate and the heart of the metro Detroit area should see less than an inch of fresh snow by Thursday, according to the weather service.

Frigid air then moves back into southeastern Michigan on Thursday when highs struggle to reach 20 degrees with wind chills in the single digits, according to the weather service.
Friday will also be cold with another chance of snow in the nighttime hours, according to the weather service.
