Dangerous Wind Chills Thursday Can Cause Frostbite In 10 Minutes
Arctic air is creating dangerous wind chills around Michigan. Here's what you should know.

SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — A blast of Arctic air with gusty winds is producing dangerous wind chills across a significant portion of the Upper Midwest into the Northeast, including in Michigan. Wind chill warnings and advisories are in effect through Thursday afternoon. T
he frigid airmass is also supporting heavy lake effect snows downwind of the Great Lakes into Thursday. Heavy rain and mountain snow expected for the West by this weekend.
The local wind chill warning is in effect until 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon for the following counties: Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee,
Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe.
Wind chills will register at down to 35 below zero and will continue to drop until the early afternoon. This wind is so dangerous it can cause frostbite to the skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Temperatures are expected to rise this weekend to 45 degrees.
