Delta Flights Grounded At Detroit Metro Airport Due To Network Outage

The ground stop has left hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport's McNamara Terminal​.

ROMULUS, MI — There were dozens of delays at Detroit Metro Airport on Friday morning due to a network outage with Delta Airlines.

The outage forced Delta to issue a ground stop, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport's McNamara Terminal.

There were more than 106 Delta flights delayed and another 32 flights canceled, according to Flightaware.

The ground stop was issued at 6 a.m. and continues to 9 a.m. though it could be extended as the airline works to resolve the outage.

Officials said the network outage is specific to Delta and is not impacting other airlines at the airport.

"Due to a connectivity outage in Detroit, Delta has issued a ground stop for all flights at DTW airport this morning. Delta teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and customers should monitor the status of their flight via the Fly Delta app and Delta.com," Delta Airlines said.
