DETROIT — Detroit has closed the historic Hotel Yorba due to "unsafe living conditions," according to local reports.
The city issued an immediate vacate order Monday morning after finding a leaky roof, collapsing ceilings and insect infestations throughout the building, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The four-story, 250-room building, located on Lafayette Boulevard, was built in 1926. It was also the setting for the music video and lead single "Hotel Yorba" from The White Stripes’ 2001 album "White Blood Cells."
