Detroit Cop Traded Leniency For Women's Phone Numbers: Report
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged a Detroit cop with misconduct after he was reportedly not giving tickets to certain women.

DETROIT, MI — A Detroit cop has been charged after reportedly asking women for their phone numbers in exchange for getting out of traffic tickets.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Chancellor Dmitri Searcy, 32, of Detroit, with misconduct in office. According to Worthy's office, on two different occasions Search asked women he had stopped for their phone numbers in exchange for not issuing them tickets during the stop.
On July 2, 2018, the officer allegedly conducted a traffic stop on Woodward Avenue near Congress, pulling over a 21-year-old woman from Sterling Heights. He allegedly asked for her number and after giving it to him, the woman said Searcy made several unwanted phone calls to her. .

During the second incident, on Aug. 14, 2018, Searcy pulled over a 29-year-old woman from Ray, Mich. who allegedly told that she would go to jail, have her car impounded and receive a ticket unless she provided her phone number to the officer. The woman then said she began receiving unwanted calls and texts from Search.
Searcy now faces a max penalty of up to five years in prison. He will be arraigned at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17.

WXYZ reported that in January 2017, Searcy was found not guilty after being charged for stealing thousands of dollars from people he pulled over.
