Detroit Metro Airport: More Than 300 Flights Canceled Friday
Forecasters warned the Detroit area could see wind gusts reaching up to 55 miles per hour during the afternoon hours.

ROMULUS, MI — More than 300 flights coming in and going out at Detroit Metro Airport were canceled Friday morning as a winter storm continues disrupting travel across Michigan.
As of Friday afternoon, 320 flights were canceled and another 116 were delayed at Detroit Metro Airport, with most of them going to Chicago, Washington D.C. and New York City, according to FlightAware.com.
Many of the nation's top airliners are offering travelers in affected regions of the country travel waivers to help alter their plans. Be sure to check the specific language on the airlines’ website about travel waivers and what travel dates are available for rebooking.

Over 3.5 million Michiganders will travel 50 miles or more from home between Dec. 23, 2022, and Jan. 2, 2023, with 3.2 million people planning to travel by car, according to AAA. You can check for airport delays/cancelations here.
