Driver Tosses 2 Cats From Moving SUV At Detroit Gas Station, 1 Dies: Police

Police believe the SUV struck one of the kittens as the driver pulled away.

DETROIT — Police are investigating after someone threw two kittens out of a moving SUV at a Detroit gas station on Monday.

The white Chevy pulled into the BP gas station on Seven Mile Road and Grand River Avenue on Monday morning, according to police.

Surveillance video then shows the driver tossing two kittens out of the SUV with the door open.

One of the kittens started violently jerking and jumping for roughly 30 seconds before settling down as the other kitten curls up next to it looking around.

The kitten that was hurt died, according to the nonprofit animal rescue Detroit Animal Welfare Group.

Police believe the SUV struck the kitten as the driver pulled away.
