Detroit's Hart Plaza To Host Street Skateboarding's Red Bull Hart Lines
Ryan Sheckler and other professionals will take on a two lane course, putting their creativity and skills to the test on May 13.

From Red Bull Hart Lines: Red Bull Hart Lines, one of the most unique street skateboarding competitions to come along in recent years with its one-of-a-kind course layout and contest format, returns to Detroit’s Hart Plaza on May 13. The biggest names in skateboarding will be back for the third edition of the unparalleled competition. Contest visionary, Ryan Sheckler, and an elite roster of professionals will take on the two-lane course, putting their skills and creativity on the line in front of a packed Detroit crowd.
Red Bull Hart Lines’ dynamic course will be comprised of two lanes, each with its own unique set of skateable features as well as a few existing stair sets, rails and ledges. Athletes will skate each lane once, then for their third run, the choice is theirs. The top score from each lane based on style and skill is averaged and then balanced against the quickest time to determine the skater’s overall score.
In a new twist to the 2017 event, the qualifying rounds and finals will take place over one day on Saturday May 13; meaning more action, risk, creativity and significance will be packed into every run.

“Coming up on our third year, the competition at Red Bull Hart lines just keeps getting better, and better, and better!” said host and competitor Ryan Sheckler. “Injury kept me from competing last year but I’ll be back in the action at Hart Plaza this time around. This year, we have a single day of top-level competition, which will lift the intensity and tempo of the event – it’s going to really be something special in 2017.”
