Flood Watch Issued for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb And Washtenaw

Warmer temperatures, snow melt and thunderstorms increase the odds of flooding in Southeast Michigan this week.

Early Monday morning, the National Weather Service for Detroit and Pontiac issued a flood watch for over a dozen southeast Michigan counties including Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne. The flood watch is in effect until Wednesday. With temperatures expected to climb to the low 60s by Tuesday, and a series of thunderstorms expected Tuesday as well, melting snow and rain increase the odds of flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

The flood watch affects portions of Lake Erie, Lake Huron and Lake St Clair, but the National Weather Service says no potter activation will not be needed For more information and National Weather Service forecasts, visit www.weather.gov/detroit.
