Free Dental Exams and X-Rays Offered in Detroit during 'CCH Dental Health Day' on September 26

Initiative from Central City Health provides essential dental care to Detroit and Wayne County residents, regardless of ability to pay

DETROIT — Central City Health (CCH) will host “CCH Dental Health Day” on Friday, September 26, offering free dental exams and x-rays to community members. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Central City Health, 10 Peterboro St. in Midtown Detroit.

This one-day health and wellness initiative underscores CCH’s commitment to improving oral health across Detroit and Wayne County by providing vital dental services at no cost, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

“Oral health is often overlooked, yet it plays a critical role in overall well-being,” said Dr. Olivia Croom, Dental Director at Central City Health. “CCH Dental Health Day is about removing barriers and making sure every Detroiter, whether a child, parent or senior, has the chance to receive preventive care in a welcoming environment.”

During CCH Dental Health Day, patients will receive:

— A comprehensive oral examination, including an assessment of teeth, gums, and mouth to check for cavities, oral cancer, gum disease, or other health issues.
— Partial x-rays focusing on the sides of the teeth to help detect problems early.
— A review of existing dental work, such as fillings and crowns, to ensure they are in good condition.
— A personalized “oral health report card” with recommended next steps, including follow-up appointments as needed.

Appointments will be conducted every 15 minutes, with approximately 50 slots available throughout the day. Both adults and children are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call (313) 831-3160.
