DETROIT — A popular Detroit cocktail bar and entertainment venue is closing down for the rest of the summer.
Detroit’s Willis Show Bar, located at 4156 Third Street in Detroit’s Cass Corridor, said it is temporarily closing down due to operational costs and a seasonal lull in business.
"This wasn’t a choice we made lightly," the bar said in a social media post. "However, given rising operational costs and the seasonal lull in business that hits Detroit each summer, it’s clear now is the time to pause, reset, and focus on much-needed improvements for this historic music venue and cocktail bar."

The owners did not say when they plan to reopen the bar, but they did say its reopening will include a "sustainable future."
"Our hope is that we can return with a sustainable future — one that supports both the music and the community that have always been at the heart of this space," according to the post.
