Strong storms will then move into the region sometime after 8 p.m. Friday. The main threats will be heavy downpours, large hail up to 1 inch in diameter and winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour, according to the weather service.

The storms should fade away during the overnight hours, though a passing shower could linger into Saturday morning, according to the weather service.

There will also be rain chances over the weekend as a cool front pushes temperatures back below 70 degrees, according to the weather service.
