This Metro Detroit Pizzeria Has The Best Slice In MI, Food Network Says

There are many great pizza options across Michigan. But what’s the best of the best? According to Food Network, the best slice in Michigan can be found in the metro Detroit area.

The Original Buscemi's in Eastpointe has the best pizza in Michigan, according to Food Network’s 50 Best Pizza Slices By State 2025.

The Original Buscemi's, located along Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe, started in the 1950s as a party store selling subs. Shortly later, they began selling pizza and quickly became a local favorite.

The pizzeria is known for its authentic Detroit-style pizza, which is a thick-crusted square pizza made in the traditional style of cheese first, then sauce, Food Network said.

"It was fresh and delicious. The crust was perfect, not too thick and not too thin," a recent five-star Google review wrote. "The Pepperoni's were plentiful, not sparse, and it was extra saucy. Excellent for neighborhood deli pizza."

The Original Buscemi's is one of Metro Detroit's longest-running pizzerias. They have more than two dozen locations across the metro area.
