Michigan Coronavirus Deaths Top 14,000 Thursday

Michigan health officials on Thursday reported that the state had eclipsed 14,000 deaths attributed to the coronavirus.

The state reported 2,165 new cases of the coronavirus Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Michigan to 544,311. Meanwhile, Michigan health officials also reported 148 more COVID-19 deaths, bringing the coronavirus death toll to 14,053.

On Wednesday, Michigan reported that it was adding 2,031 new coronavirus cases and an additional 40 COVID-19 deaths. More than 442,000 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus, state health officials reported on Saturday.

According to data gathered and provided by the World Health Organization, Michigan is 14th in the U.S. in reported cases of the coronavirus. The state is ranked eighth in the nation in reported COVID-19 deaths.

More than 25 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the U.S., according to the World Health Organization. Over 417,000 of those cases have reportedly resulted in death, while nearly 15 million have led to recovery.

Over 97.8 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Of those cases, nearly 2.1 million people have died from complications from the coronavirus, while more than 70.1 million people have recovered from the respiratory illness.
