More Than 20,000 Without Power In Storms

Thousands of DTE Energy customers are without power in the 90 degree weather after severe thunderstorms started rolling through the region.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Some 21,000 residents of Southeast Michigan are without power in the extreme heat after storms started rolling through Wednesday, DTE Energy said on Thursday. The power company said outages are scattered across the region and most customers are expected to have power by midnight.

Temperatures Thursday are expected to reach near 90 degrees. According to the National Weather Service, potentially severe thunderstorms are expected again Thursday afternoon and into the weekend.
