More Detroit Road Closures For NFL Draft Start Monday: What To Know

The Q-Line will continue to provide service to the Congress Street station through April 12, according to officials.​​

DETROIT — The second round of road closures in downtown Detroit for the NFL Draft starts Monday, city officials announced Thursday.

The next phase focuses on road closures will be around Campus Martius and the south side of the NFL Draft Theater space in the area formerly known as the Monroe Midway, according to officials.

The closures start Monday, April 8 at 9 a.m. and will last through 11:59 p.m. on May 5, according to officials.

The closures starting April 8 are:

  • Northbound Woodward Avenue from Congress Street to State Street
  • Eastbound Cadillac Square from Woodward Avenue to Randolph Street
  • Westbound Cadillac Square from Randolph Street to Bates Street
  • Bates Street from Cadillac Square to East Congress Street

Phase one closures began Friday, March 29 and will last until May 7 and include:

  • Randolph Street between Monroe Street and Fort Street
  • Monroe Street between Woodward Avenue and Randolph Street
  • Farmer Street between Randolph and Bates (Garage access only)
  • Bates Street (no through traffic)

The Q-Line will continue to provide service to the Congress Street station through April 12, according to officials.

The 2024 NFL Draft will take place in Detroit's downtown areas around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza from April 25-27. The NFL Draft has become one of the most anticipated sports events of the year, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans from around the world.
