Wahlburgers Returning To Detroit Area: Here's Where

The popular burger joint once had multiple locations in the Detroit area.

ROMULUS, MI — A popular burger joint is opening a new restaurant at Detroit Metro Airport.

Wahlburgers, best known for its signature gourmet burgers, is opening a new spot in Delta’s Terminal A next Monday. The restaurant will operate as a counter-service concept within the airport’s food court, located across Gate A64, with shared seating nearby.

"Detroit holds a special place in the heart of the Wahlberg family, which makes opening a Wahlburgers at Detroit Metro Airport especially meaningful," Wahlburgers CEO Randy Sharpe said. "We’re thrilled to bring the family’s favorite recipes to travelers, giving them a taste of our signature flavors while on the go. Detroit has such a strong sense of pride and personality — just like our brand — so it feels like a perfect fit. Whether you’re catching a flight or just craving a great burger, we’ve got you covered."

In addition to its signature burger, the new spot's menu will also feature breakfast burgers, breakfast burritos, Impossible burgers, crispy chicken ranch sandwiches and more.

Wahlburgers is one of six restaurants opening at the airport. Multiple other shops and restaurants are expected to gradually open at the airport over the next few years, DTW announced last summer.

The restaurant will be owned and operated by Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and food service that currently serves 22 airport locations and is actively expanding its airport footprint. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Wahlburgers once had multiple locations in the Detroit area, including in Detroit, Royal Oak, Taylor and Grand Rapids. The restaurant was foudned by founded by brothers Mark, Donnie and Chef Paul Wahlberg in 2011.
