Severe Thunderstorms Predicted Thursday Afternoon In Michigan

It's day two of severe storms rolling in across Michigan combined with near 90-degree temps. Here's a look at your weekend forecast.

MICHIGAN — It’s day two of a series of storms passing through Michigan, prompting hazardous weather outlooks across the state for chances of isolated tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and flooding. The following counties are being cautioned against the severe weather: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Washtenaw, St. Clair, Livingston, Lapeer, Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, Midland, Huron, Tuscola and Sanilac.

Thursday afternoon is expected to bring severe thunderstorms in the squelching near-90-degree heat. Local schools in Detroit have once again closed early due to the recent heat and air quality has suffered, according to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

Storms are expected to continue through Sunday.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. North wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday
Partly sunny, with a high near 72. North northeast wind around 10 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

A chance of showers after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
