Stormy Weekend Ahead Amid Rising Heat, Humidity: Metro Detorit Weather
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, damaging winds and frequent lightning.
METRO DETROIT — Thunderstorms are likely across the metro Detroit area this weekend as high heat and humidity return to the region, according to the National Weather Service.
The first round of showers and storms will move into the area during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday when highs climb into the low 90s with even higher feels-like temperatures, the weather service said.
Lingering storms will hit the region during the morning hours Sunday when highs drop back into the mid to upper 80s, the weather service said.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed part of the southeastern Michigan region under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather on Saturday.

There are more chances for showers and storms early next week as slightly cooler temperatures move into the region.
