Thunderstorm Advisory, Flood Warning In Effect For Region

Hail in excess of 1 inch, damaging winds of 60 mph or greater, along with isolated tornadoes are all possible, forecasters say.

METRO DETROIT, MI — A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Southeastern Michigan, with both thunderstorm warnings and flood advisories in the region.

Numerous strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours ahead of strong cold front, according to the National Weather Service. This impacts Macomb, Wayne, Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee, Livingston, Lapeer, St. Clair counties and some northern regions. The best chance for severe thunderstorms will be from 5 p.m.

through about midnight, according to the forecast.

Storm motion will be generally west to east at about 45 mph. Hail in excess of 1 inch, damaging winds of 60 mph or greater, along with isolated tornadoes are all possible.

Lakeshore Flood Warnings are also in effect for Macomb and St. Clair counties
