Metro Detroit Man Fatally Stabs His Grandmother, Hides Body In Field: Police

The 31-year-old grandson has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing, officials said.

ALLEN PARK, MI — A 31-year-old Allen Park man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of his grandmother, according to the county's prosecutor's office.

Officers found 84-year-old Patricia Anderson stabbed to death in a Detroit field last week, officials said.

Ian Andrew Sharpe was charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and removing a dead body without permission. He was placed in jail and denied bond. His next court date is scheduled for April 28.

If convicted of first-degree murder, he faces up to life in prison.

Officials said Sharpe fatally stabbed Anderson with a knife multiple times last Wednesday inside a home in the 10000 block of Allen Pointe Drive in Allen Park.

Sharpe then moved Anderson's body to an open Detroit field, officials said.

Officers found Anderson's body last Saturday. Officials did not say exactly where in Detroit they found the body.

Officials did not release any other details about the stabbing or why it happened.
