Weather Alert: Heat Advisory, Heavy Thunderstorms Possible
First a heatwave of temperatures that feel like 90 degrees and then possibly torrential rain with "damaging" winds for Thursday.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Thursday is going to be an extreme day on the weather front, according to forecasts. The region is under a heat advisory until 6 p.m. this evening with temperatures in the 90s that produce heat indices of above 100 degrees. But, it’s the cold front moving in and bringing a storm that is also risk.
The hot and humid air in the daytime could leave to potentially hazardous conditions, particularly for the elderly and those with health conditions. Heat illnesses are possible even for the healthy who are exposed. Locals should drink plenty of fluids, stay in cool rooms and out of the sun for too long and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Tonight the scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, with damaging winds up to 60 mph and torrential rainfall being the main hazards as storm motion looks to be at 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
