• Dexter Council Approves Sale of City Property, Advances Fire Funding Changes, and Moves Forward on Historic Signage (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter City Council has approved selling the Meadow View/Dexter-Ann Arbor Road parcel to a local orthodontist for $675,000 and adopted a new funding formula for the Dexter Area Fire Department starting in 2026. Council also advanced historic signage downtown, funded alerting systems for the new Main Street fire station, and reviewed capital projects and zoning work that could shape future housing in Dexter. 
• Nancy Sue Kiel (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter readers may recognize the Sweeny family, as Nancy Sue Kiel’s son Ronald lives in Dexter and is among her many surviving children and grandchildren. Nancy, a lifelong Chelsea-area resident and devoted homemaker, passed away at 90 on December 19. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Vermont Cemetery in Chelsea, with memorials suggested to Gentiva Hospice.
