MICHIGAN — Michigan's first Costco Business Center will open in Oakland County, according to a news release from Friedman Real Estate.

The new 160,000-square-foot business-oriented retail warehouse will cover over 13 acres at the corner of Northland Drive and Northwestern Highway in Southfield, according to the release.

The real estate company said the new superstore will be different than Costco’s standard consumer retail warehouses. The new center will sell products in larger bulks and there will not be a pharmacy or bakery, the group said.

Consumers can also expect a larger selection of commercial appliances, office supplies and restaurant supplies and equipment.

The new center is part of a larger project, the Northland City Center project, in which officials are redeveloping more than 100 acres of the former Northland Mall property into office, retail, medical and multi-family space.

There are currently only a couple dozens superstores around the nation at the moment. The group did not announce an opening date.
