Five pontoon boats burned during a fire at around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning on Lake Fenton.
Chief Ryan Volz said two boats were fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene and the other three boats suffered exposure burns from the heat. The two boats that were fully involved were a complete loss. Flames could be seen from across the lake.
Volz said the cause is unknown, but said the boats appeared to newer models. He said the Michigan fire marshal had been called to investigate.
