Fenton is one of three local communities teaming up to compete for the Michigan Municipal League's Community Excellence Award, according to an article at MLive.com.
The annual Community Excellence Award showcases innovative solutions, programs or projects that have had a positive impact on their community, and can be replicated in other communities with similar challenges, according to the MML's web site.
Linden, Fenton and Holly are working as a team on a project called Come Paddle With Us and are asking residents to help them create a flotilla in the Shiawassee River on Aug. 10 that will be filmed and used as part of their entry, MLive.com reports.
