The future of Fenton is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Joseph Bujak II, who are making a positive impact in and around Fenton.

A 2019 Fenton High School graduate, Joseph earned the prestigious Maize & Blue Distinguished Scholar Award at the University of Michigan-Flint in 2024, the institution’s highest academic recognition. This honor, given to no more than 26 students annually, recognizes recipients who demonstrate exceptional intellect, character and community engagement.

During his time at UM-Flint, Joseph excelled not only as a scholar but also as a leader. He founded the Pre-Law Society, contributed to student government and coordinated a high-profile event featuring Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein. Joseph is currently a J.D. candidate at the University of Michigan Law School, where he is also involved as a member of the Mock Trial team, the Catholic Law Students Association and the First Generation Law Students Association.
