ROCKWOOD, MI — A Rockwood man, who went missing last week at the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Oakland County, was found dead Thursday night, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators found the body of 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Angeles at 11:30 p.m. in a wooded area in Crawford County, officials said.

Officials do not suspect foul play, but they are still investigating the incident.

An autopsy was planned for Friday or Saturday to determine the cause of death. Officials do not know how long the body had been in that location or how it got to the wooded area.

Investigators were led to the area after a tip came in about a Jeep Commander, which Angeles was seen driving as he left the festival grounds last Saturday at 11 a.m. He was last seen with his mother when they took a photo together at the festival, officials said.

Officials said Angeles and his mother drove separate cars to the festival.

When Angeles didn't return home Saturday or show for work the next day, officials began searching the area near the Renaissance Festival grounds on Dixie Highway.

Using security footage, investigators tracked Angeles’ Jeep to a location at Interstate 75 and Interstate 675 in the Saginaw area later in the day, officials said.

Investigators tried to ping Angeles’ phone every 15 minutes, but the phone was turned off, officials said.

Officials asked anyone with information about the case to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4950.
