Caribou Coffee will cease to exist in Michigan: The company will close 80 underperforming stores on April 14, and will convert an additional 88 coffeehouses to Peet's Coffee & Tea over the next 12 to 18 months. It is not yet clear which locations in Oakland County will be converted to Peet's Coffee & Tea.

Frozen yogurt shop kicks off extended spring hours: Easy Like Sundae in Ferndale is now open from noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. "As the weather gets warmer, business picks up a little bit, so that's what's behind the extended hours," owner Aaron Stone said Monday. Find more information on their Facebook page.

Noodles & Company hosts kidney foundation fundraiser: Noodles & Company will host the 4th annual benefit with the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at all Michigan Noodles & Company restaurants.

Naughty or nice? New Berkley restaurant will let diners decide: Coco Fairfield's in Berkley, the new diner at the former site of Hogger's BBQ is expected to open in June, co-owner Martin Miller of Livonia said Monday. He said the menu will be "a little bit healthy, a little bit sinful," with selections that might include vegetarian and gluten-free items and decadent choices like grilled cheese on cinnamon-raisin bread with bacon.
