The Ferndale Parks and Recreation Department and the Metro Detroit Corvette Club partnered with Meijer to distribute 100 turkeys to the community for Thanksgiving. 85 turkeys were given to families of Ferndale High School, local Ferndale and Detroit youth clubs, and members of the β€œLove a Michigan Veteran” program. The remaining 15 turkeys were delivered to doorsteps of members of the Ferndale Senior Group.

Parks and Recreation Director LaReina Wheeler cited Deputy Director Lisa Bryant for her organization efforts of this successful event. The Parks and Recreation Department hopes to continue this event annually for the community.
