Ferndale School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Ferndale is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Ferndale School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/5: First Day for Students
• 9/6 Early Release Wednesday

• 10/20: Grades 6-12 Half Day
• 10/31: Grades K-5 Half Day

November

• 11/7: Grades K-5 Half Day
• 11/22: Half Day
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/19 - 12/21: Secondary Exam Days
• 12/22: No School
• 12/25: Winter Break Begins

January

• 1/3: Students Return from Winter Break
• 1/12: Grades 6-12 No School (Records Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/19: Grades K-5 No School (Records Day)

February

• 2/16: Grades K-5 Half Day
• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Mid-Winter Break)

March

• 3/9: Grades K-5 Half Day
• 3/30: No School (Spring Break Begins)

April

• 4/9: Students Return from Spring Break
• 4/10 - 4/12: Abbreviated Schedule (UHS/FHS)
• 4/25: Half Day

May

• 5/25: Half day
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/1: Grades K-5 Half Day
• 6/13 - 6/15: Secondary Exam Days
• 6/15: Last Day of School
