Rash Of Vacant Ferndale Homes Burglarized
Police say four vacant homes in Ferndale have been ransacked in less than one week.

FERNDALE, MI β Ferndale police warn there's been a rash of vacant homes burglarized all over town.
In fact, from Jan. 12 - Jan. 17, burglars targeted four vacant homes and swiped everything from furnaces to hot water heaters to refrigerators. Ferndale police believe the thieves are blatantly pulling up to homes in trucks or vans and committing these crimes "while residents assume they are there doing legitimate work," according to a press release.
So, Ferndale police are asking residents to call 9-1-1 if you see anyone who "appears" to be working or removing appliances or furniture from vacant homes or homes with for sale signs. Police point out if these people are legitimately working, they will appreciate the police work. And if they're not legitimately working, then you could be helping bust a crime ring.
