Rosie O'Grady's Closes Its Doors. Here's What Might Replace It.
While the downtown Ferndale pub closed over the weekend, plans are underway for something new at the location.

FERNDALE, MI β Rosie O'Grady's in downtown Ferndale has closed its doors for good, but plans are already in order for the property at 279 W. Nine Mile Road.
The pub posted on Facebook Saturday that ongoing staff shortages were the cause for the closure.
"We canβt say enough about this great community of ours. We appreciate the people that have graced us with their patronage," pub owners posted on Facebook. "We're sorry for such short notice it's mostly due in part to ongoing staffing shortages. So if you decide to come out or order carryout please be patient with us."

The pub's closure comes two months after its parent company, Hometown Restaurant Group, bought Public House and Antihero, Eater Detroit reported.
Crain's Detroit reported that Kramer Restaurant Group has plans to redevelop the corner property, which includes adding second-story apartments.
Owner Brian Kramer has had informal discussions with the Ferndale Planning Commission regarding his plans for the property, Crain's reported, citing city officials. A vote on the plans is expected to take place on July 21.
