Schramm's Mead Giving Back To Hospital That Saved Baby Daughter
Beaumont NICU helped micro-preemie transform into a healthy baby. Read below how you can help Beaumont NICU save even more lives.

FERNDALE, MI — Schramm’s Mead in Ferndale is hosting a heartwarming benefit to support Beaumont Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nov. 17-20. Beaumont isn't just any hospital to Schramm's Mead co-owner, Alyson Schramm Naeger, and her husband, James. It's the hospital that saved their daughter's life.
Madeline Schramm Naeger was born nearly four months early on March 8, 2015. At 1 lb., 9 oz, Madeline was considered a “micro-preemie” and faced an extremely challenging and largely uncertain future. However, in just three and a half months, the Beaumont NICU team helped Madeline transform into a healthy baby, and she was cleared to go home. Today, Madeline is a thriving toddler.
Now Madeline's parents, who are at the helm of the number one meadery in the world (according to beer and mead rating website Ratebeer.com) are giving back to Beaumont NICU and hope you do, too, by partaking in their four-day benefit, Wine, Dine and Donate. The event will be held Nov. 17 from 4-10 p.m., Nov. 18-19 from 4 p.m. to midnight and Nov. 20 from 1-6 p.m. at Schramm's tasting room (327 W. 9 Mile Road, Ferndale).
