Want Free Legal Advice? The Oakland County Bar Association Is Hosting A Complimentary Legal Seminar

The Oakland County Bar Association's free legal event will offer one-one-one time with a lawyer and seminars.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI β€” Would you like some free legal advice? Good news. You can start thinking of questions you'd like to ask a lawyer - for no charge - because the Oakland County Bar Association is hosting a complimentary legal seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ferndale Public Library, according to a press release.

The event is part of the Oakland County Bar Association’s free People’s Law College and the goal is twofold: educate Oakland County residents about the law and help answer their specific legal queries.

The Jan. 25 event will feature an Ask-a-Lawyer session, which is your opportunity to get free face time with an attorney and receive brief advice. The attorneys can cover a broad range of topics including: juvenile, family, bankruptcy, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters.

The night will also include three seminar sessions:

6:00 p.m. - 6:50 p.m. : "Property Taxes: What to Do if You Can’t Pay," with Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner

7:00 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.: "Anatomy of a Divorce" with Kelly Bidelman, Esq. from Legal Aid & Defender Association

7:00 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.: "Employment Issues: Know Your Rights" with Syeda F. Davidson, Esq., from Burgess Sharp & Golden PLLC
