City of Grosse Pointe Gets Early Warning Siren
The new siren is behind the city's police department.

The installed a new early warning emergency siren behind the police department earlier this month after receiving a grant from Wayne County.
According to a letter to residents by Director of Public Safety James Fox, the siren location was chosen by the county to ensure the most complete coverage for the area in case of severe weather or some other public emergency.
The new siren will be tested monthly on the first Saturday at 1 p.m. The test will last approximately one minute, according to Fox's letter.
