Frugal Family: Save on Burgers, Toys, Classes, and More
Everyone is looking for ways to save money and here are just a few in the Pointes. Some are saving you money and helping non-profits at the same time.
Want to save some money and get out with the family a bit? Here are a few suggestions Grosse Pointe Patch found this week for Pointers. There are probably more, we know, so add them below in the comments box.
BURGER POINTE
Deal: This week the burger, fry and shake restaurant is offering a 15 percent discount to all students during winter break. Additionally, they have daily deals throughout February: Sundays, one puck for $1; Mondays, buy a burger, fries and a drink, get the second burger for $0.25; Tuesdays, $0.50 classic fries with any sandwich; Wednesdays, $2 shakes; Thursdays, $1 soft drink with any purchase; Fridays, $1.99 kids meal. VILLAGE TOY
Deal: Grosse Pointe's signature toy store is offering a 25 percent discount on one item through their mailing list. Visit the store to sign up for the monthly update and coupon.

GROSSE POINTE BORDERS
Deal: Most books are at least 20 percent off during the store's final liquidation sale. Some items are 30 and 40 percent off. Go now to get the best selection. It's a good time to stock up on books for the whole family.

THE FAMILY CENTER
Deal: Purchase a Community Cares Card from the Family Center website for $10 and receive a variety of discounts at 29 businesses in the Pointes, St. Clair Shores and Harper Woods. Participating businesses include dog care, florists, restaurants, gardening supplies and more. Plus the proceeds from the card purchase support the Family Center, CARE and the Knights of Columbus.

GROSSE POINTE WAR MEMORIAL
Deal: Save $3 with on classes offered at the War Memorial by signing up for their e-mail list through the organization's web site. Many of the classes also have a $5 additional savings for those who sign up early.
