Police Blotter: Road Rage Shooting; Shoplifting Reported
Officers from the Pointes are investigating a variety of crimes, including a road rage incident that left two bullet holes in a man's car.

A 67-year-old Allen Park man was fired upon four to five times during a road rage situation that began near Buckingham and Mack Avenue on Feb. 18. The incident continued to Balfour and Mack Avenue. The man was not hurt but his car was struck by two bullets. Park officers assisted the victim until Detroit police arrived on the scene. A tan 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, the vehicle from which bullets were fired, drove from the scene north on Balfour. A man was driving and a female was a passenger, according to police reports.
Shoplifter steals leather jackets
A man who entered Men's Warehouse, 19435 Mack Ave., Feb. 21, stole two, possibly three, leather jackets after seeking help from a salesperson. The man asked about leather jackets as soon as he entered the store and the employee brought two to the counter. While retrieving a third, the man disappeared, as did the coats. The employee provided police with a description of the man. The jackets were valued at $1,850, according to police reports.

ACTION makes arrest
Park officers and the ACTION team (Arrest Car Thieves In Our Neighborhood) arrested a 28-year-old Detroit man Feb. 16 on a warrant for stripping a stolen vehicle. The ACTION team was doing surveillance on Buckingham near Mack Avenue when they spotted the man, according to reports.

In an unrelated report, Park officers also believe they helped prevent a theft of the wheels of a Chevrolet Tahoe Feb. 18 after finding a stack of cinder blocks stacked next to the SUV in the 800 block of Trombley Road.
Loaded gun found during traffic stop
Charges are pending against a 41-year-old Highland Park man after Park officers stopped him for speeding Feb. 17 on Charlevoix Road and found him in possession of a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun. The man had a permit to carry the weapon, but the weapon was not registered and the man did not disclose that he had the gun during the traffic stop, police said. Officers confiscated the gun, according to reports.
In an unrelated traffic stop, two Detroit men ran from their vehicle in the 3000 block of Somerset Road Feb. 19 after officers tried to stop them for speeding. The men ran into a Detroit home, where officers followed. Officers arrested the men, 18 and 19 years old, on resisting and possession of marijuana charges.
Radiators stolen
Four men stole eight old radiators from the basement of a house in the 1100 block of Maryland Street Feb. 18. Police believe the men used a key from a former tenant of the house to enter, according to reports.
Boy lost temporarily
The mother of an 11-year-old Shores boy reported him missing after he failed to return home from school Feb. 18 and could not be located at any of his normal hangout spots. Officers located him at a friend's house in the Woods that night, according to police reports.
