Grosse Pointe Woods City Council

Tonight council will have a formal vote on last week's surprise motion to remove the city's ban on neon signs. The council voted informally during its special Committee of the Whole meeting last week 5 to 2 to remove the ban. Meanwhile, business owners have continued to gather signatures from registered voters to repeal the ban -- a campaign eight business owners began after losing appeals before the council last month. Council meets at the Woods municipal building at 7:30 p.m.
