Whiz Kid: Spirited Volunteer

Thomas Goffas, an eighth-grader at Parcells Middle School, is the Patch Whiz Kid of the Week.

Name: Thomas Goffas

  • Age: 13
  • School:, eighth grade
  • Accomplishment: Thomas is a spirited volunteer who enjoys giving back to other children and puts forth all of his effort.
  • Key to Success: "Tommy has worked as a Volunteer Jr. Counselor at Camp Invention for the past two summers. As an elementary student, Tommy attended Camp Invention every year. When he came to middle school, he wanted to give back to the program by volunteering to work as a junior counselor. For the past two summers, he has served as a full-time volunteer at Camp Invention, and has put in double the work and effort that was asked of him! No job’s too big or too small for Tommy. He has a real “can do” spirit, and his enjoyment of working with children and giving back to his community is more than obvious in everything he does! Additionally, Tommy is an honors student at Parcells Middle School, where he also serves as the President of Parcells’ Student Council. Again, when serving Parcells student body, there is no job too big or too small for Tommy. He is a team player and he is dedicated to serving his community and leaving the world a better place than he found it," " said his teacher Deb Duffey.
