Where to Donate Food for Gleaners
Donations to Gleaners are being accepted through Nov. 4 at the LESA Education Center in Howell.

With more than 12,200 residents of Livingston County receiving food assistance yearly, 40 percent of the people Gleaners serve are under the age of 18, according to a press release from Gleaners and very young children who live in food insecure households are two-thirds more likely to be at risk for motor skill and cognitive deficits.
As a way to give back to our community, the Livingston Educational Service Agency's (LESA) W-A-Y Program is collecting non-perishable food and toiletry items to benefit Gleaners Food Bank.Â
Now through November 4, there will be a donation box located at the following locations:

Suggested food and personal hygiene items include:
- Cereal/Individual packs of Oatmeal
- Toothpaste
- Soups/Stews
- Toothbrush
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Shampoo- Adult/Kids
- Pasta
- Body Wash- Adults/Kids
- Granola Bars/Fruit Bars
- Deodorant
- Pudding/Jell-O Cups
- Assorted Crackers
- Vegetables
- Canned Fish
- Trail Mix
- Peanut Butter
- Fruit Snacks
- Tea/Coffee
- Ziploc Bags- All sizes
