Northville Girls Basketball Wins First Home Game of Season
The Mustangs beat Walled Lake Central 51-17.

After beating Walled Lake Northern on the road last Tuesday in their first game of the season, the Mustangs came home to play Walled Lake Central. Northville's pressure defense and hot shooting got the Mustangs off to a great start as they jumped all over the Vikings in the first quarter. Northville made four 3-pointers in the quarter to open up a 21-2 lead after the first 8 minutes. The second quarter wasn't any better for Central as they only made 1 basket all half and fell behind 28-4 at halftime. Northville shot 43% to just 13% for Central.
Sometimes games like these are harder to play because its not very competitive and players tend to not have their head in the game and things get sloppy but we challenged our girls to go out and dominate from the get go and they did just that. We came out shooting the ball well and did a nice job defensively. We are getting contributions from everyone right now and that's a good sign as we more forward. We're going to need everyone to play a role if we want to be successful. Although we rolled through our first two games I think it's still too early to tell how good we are going to be. The true test will come when we play against some quality teams and that test is coming soon.
