1. The weather
Today will be mostly cloudy with a high of 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low of 43 degrees and a 30 percent chance of rain. Winds will be at 9-16 mph with gusts up to 36 mph throughout the day and night.
2. Gas prices
According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the Novi area as of Friday night was $3.35 per gallon at the Speedway on Haggerty Road near 8 Mile Road.
3. Celebrate the library
was recently named the winner of the 2011 State Librarian's Excellence Award. To celebrate, the library is hosting a free community reception today at 3 p.m. with entertainment and music.

4. Catholic Central Open House
is hosting an open house from nooon to 4 p.m. today. The Basilian Fathers, teachers and students of Catholic Central invite people to tour the school, see exhibits, meet students and faculty and more. All sixth, seventh and eigth grade boys and their parents are welcome.
5. Plan ahead: welcome the new mayor, city council members
Mayor-elect Bob Gatt and City Council members-elect Laura Casey, Dave Staudt and Wayne Wrobel will be welcomed into office on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Atrium. All four will be officially sworn in at 6:45 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and light refreshments will be served.
