Their St. Louis win cements them as favorites for Olympic gold and keeps Novi firmly on the map of elite figure skating training hubs.
   

• Novi man pleads guilty to federal ID theft, wire fraud charges (theoaklandpress.com) — A Novi resident has admitted in federal court to identity theft and wire fraud tied to more than $500,000 in fraudulent unemployment claims, and now faces a potential lengthy prison sentence and large restitution. Authorities say he filed about 90 bogus claims across 20 states during the pandemic, and sentencing is scheduled for May in Detroit federal court.
   

• U.S. Rep. McClain, Gov. Whitmer christen naval ship named after Lansing (macombdaily.com) — Michigan’s newest namesake Navy ship, the USNS Lansing, includes main propulsion engines built in Novi, tying local manufacturing directly to national defense. State leaders joined the christening in Alabama, highlighting Michigan’s long role in supplying the military and noting that key components also came from Kingsford.
